External door frames

Hardwood external door frame packs - suitable for external doors and door pairs.

These frames are supplied flat packed. They are ready mortice and tenon jointed for easy assembly. They can be used to open in or out as the sill is reversible. They are grooved for draught seal.

The pack consists of: 2no Frame legs, 1no Frame head, 1no Sill, 1no Timber water bar.

The sills are not always grooved for a water bar, please request if needed.

If your frame does not need a sill simply cut the tenons from the bottom of the frame legs and discard the sill.

Softwood external door frame packs - suitable for external doors and door pairs.

These frames are supplied flat packed. They are provided as rebated frame section. They are not mortice and tenonned. They are to be jointed on site. They have the groove for draught seals to be installed.

For single external doors the pack consists of:

2no 2.1m Frame Legs

1no 1.05m Frame Head

To work out the external frame size add 90mm to the width and 45mm to the height of your doors, e.g., for a 1981x762mm door the overall size for the frame will be 2026x852mm. You may need to use an external metal sill as below.

Metal sill £10

Metal sills are used where there is no brickwork to cover up, i.e., a concrete floor running under the frame or a stone step. Very effective draught seal, hardwearing, low 15mm height. Available in brass effect or aluminium. (Model : Macclex 15)

Weatherboards and drips

Hardwood Weatherboard

Drip Mould (Hardwood and Softwood)

Oak Effect Weatherboard

The weatherboards are to go on the bottom of doors to deflect rain away from the gap at the bottom of the door.

 

The drips are for use on the bottom of the top half of stable doors to deflect rain away from the rebate in the centre of the door. These could also be used as a drip for the top of an external door frame for doors that open out.

Hardwood sill section

These sills are 145mm x 45mm with a bevel to the front and a drip groove underneath. Its sold in random lengths.

All subject to availability. The sill is priced by the metre and cannot always be sold by the metre.

 

External door with sidelights frame pack

These frames are to accept a door with one or two sidelights. The frames are adjustable to the door and sidelight sizes. You just need to buy the one correct for the height of the door to be installed.

The sizes stated opposite are the external measurements of the frame if nothing was cut off the doors and sidelights. E.g. for a 78x33" door and 2no 23" Sidelights. Which would be the largest width available. The frame is fully adjustable to different sidelight and door widths.

This picture shows our draught seals in place. The white seal is to seal around the door. The brown water bar is for the sill and can be used in place of the timber one supplied in our frame packs above.

These frames are made from a timber similar in colour and appearance to oak. They are ideal to use for oak doors, to keep the cost of the frame down.

These frames are supplied flat packed. They are ready mortice and tenon jointed for easy assembly. They can be used to open in or out as the sill is reversible.

The pack consists of: 2no Frame legs, 1no Frame head, 1no Sill
