The window pictured below is an example of a sapele mock traditional sliding sash window. The difference between a real sliding sash window and a mock sliding sash window is that the later is basically a top hung hinged casement window as apposed to sliding. Please view window options.

This is the Ron Currie's mock traditional sliding sash window design. They are constructed as we would a sliding sash, complete with staff and parting beads, but the top casement is hinged rather than sliding. We believe this to be the closest replica of a sliding sash possible, but without the expense of the spiral balance sliding mechanism. In the table below, there is a list of prices for several patterns of mock sliding sash window in various timbers.
