Sliding sash windows by Ron Currie

The illustration below is a large tudor style sliding sash window manufactured by Ron Currie in softwood.

Sliding sash windows are usually found on listed properties or in conservation areas. We use modern spiral balancing as apposed to the old weight balances, making them much more cost effective. Although, cord and weight can be used on request at an increased cost. Also with the use of modern draught sealing, they are resistant to the weather. In the table below, there is a list of prices for several patterns of sliding sash window in various timbers. If you cannot see the pattern you require, please email/fax us the pattern you are interested in and we will give you a quote. The prices shown are for one of the two casements to slide, usually the bottom casement sliding up. See bottom of page for glass information. Please view 'window options' for important information.

We supply glass as an optional extra. In the glass column contained in the table above we have priced for clear low E 24mm double glazed units. The glass is supplied loose for you to install on site. Provided the glass and window are installed correctly the window will meet current building regulations. If you require the double sided glazing tape, we supply this at £10 per 50m roll. We can also supply single glazing, obscure glazing and toughened glazing. Please email for prices. If the pane of glass is less than 800mm off the floor, it will need to be toughened.
